International Women's Day 2022

We celebrate the contributions of women and fuel innovation by valuing the perspectives, ideas, capabilities and experiences of all, says CSL’s Chief Human Resources Officer.

Silhouettes of a woman and the words International Women's Day

Designated by the United Nations to celebrate the achievements of women, International Women’s Day is one of the days each year when I am most proud of being part of CSL, where women comprise 59% of our global workforce and play a vital role in delivering on our promise to save lives and improve human health.

We recently featured some of these accomplished women on our website:

Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Honorees Wlenyeno Elliott-Browne and Jaclyn Barber

Everyday Trailblazers Simone Ruedin and Shailee Patel

From CSL Plasma Donor to Center Manager: Sarah Sweat

The UN’s theme for 2022 International Women’s Day is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.” It recognizes the role that women and girls around the globe are playing in leading the charge on important issues such as climate change and building a sustainable future for all.

At CSL, we are committed to a healthier world. We have a long history of leveraging the power of innovation to solve problems and help people around the globe to live their fullest lives. The unique perspectives, ideas, capabilities and experiences of all our people make CSL stronger and help us to foster that innovation.

Ensuring CSL is a place where the voices and viewpoints of women – and other historically marginalized groups – are heard is a critical component of our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) efforts. That means looking at more than just the numbers – it means cultivating a culture in which all our employees are respected, valued and inspired to do their best work.

Having a diverse and inclusive culture helps us to better understand and connect with patients and other stakeholders, as well as engage with the communities where we live and work. It also improves the quality of our decision-making and helps us to attract and retain the best and brightest talent.

At CSL, we believe DE&I is everyone’s responsibility, every day – not just on International Women’s Day – and that together we can make a difference and deliver on our promise.
