CSL recently joined with heads of state, celebrities and other companies, such as Cisco, Coca-Cola and Google, to support humanitarian relief in embattled Ukraine.

During Global Citizen’s Stand Up For Ukraine, CSL Limited CEO Paul Perreault pledged more than 1.6 million euros. Watch a 10-second clip of Perreault making the pledge on behalf of CSL, a global biotech leader that specializes in medicines for rare and serious diseases, as well as influenza vaccines.

In total, Stand Up For Ukraine generated more than $10 billion (9.1 billion euros) in grants and loans that will support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and neighboring European countries. The Stand Up For Ukraine event capped a broader social media campaign launched in March by the European Commission and the Canadian government in partnership with Global Citizen.

According to Global Citizen, the campaign answers a call for support launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who appeared at the event in recorded remarks. The aim of the campaign is to raise funding and other types of support to care for people inside and outside Ukraine who are fleeing the invasion.

Global Citizen describes itself as “an action platform dedicated to achieving the end of extreme poverty, powered by a community of millions of Global Citizens who believe in one world, one people - where everyone has an equal chance to thrive.”
