Gordon Naylor

Gordon Naylor was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of CSL on 11 February, 2026.

Gordon is a seasoned global biotechnology executive with more than three decades of leadership experience across operations, finance, IT and advanced manufacturing. Beginning his career as an engineer, he joined CSL in the late 1980s and played a pivotal role in the company’s transformation from an Australian Government department into a global biotechnology leader.

Over his 33‑year tenure at CSL, Mr Naylor held a range of senior executive roles across multiple countries, including Chief Financial Officer and later President of Seqirus, where he led the successful three‑year turnaround that positioned the business as a global influenza vaccines leader. His contributions spanned the design and build of major manufacturing infrastructure, the global expansion of CSL Plasma, leadership of global supply chain and IT functions, and responsibility for several of the company’s most significant international acquisitions.

Following his long executive career, Mr Naylor was appointed to the CSL Board in December 2025, continuing his long association with the company through strategic governance and leadership.

Mr Naylor brings deep expertise in operational excellence, transformation and complex capital projects, recognised for applying engineering and analytical discipline to corporate leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), a Graduate Diploma in Computer Science, an MBA from Melbourne Business School, is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and a Certified Practising Accountant.
