Listen: Expanding Access to Therapies for People With Bleeding Disorders

In honor of World Hemophilia Day, podcast discusses access to therapies for those living with hemophilia.

Access for All World Hemophilia Day April 17 2022

People around the world living with bleeding disorders are able to live active and full lives, thanks to advancements in treatment. But not everyone around the world is able to access these therapies.

For patients and caregivers in Nigeria, where Megan Adediran lives, it’s a challenge. Adediran is President of the Hemophilia Foundation of Nigeria and mother of two children who have the bleeding disorder.

“The only way I can describe it is like traveling through a tunnel without a light and without a road map unaware of what lies at the end of the tunnel,” she says on the latest episode of the World of Promise podcast.

Adediran was joined by Durhane Wong-Rieger, President and CEO of the Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders on the episode. The two guests talked to host Anthony Farina about the importance of access and how companies like CSL Behring, a global biotherapeutics leader driven by our promise to save lives, can best collaborate with patients, caregivers, communities and advocacy groups to find new and innovative ways to expand access to life-saving therapies for people living with rare and serious diseases.
