Advocate Kyle Smith remembers missing out on fun because he was in the hospital, but says he’s grateful for the kindness of his young friends.


Sickle cell disease advocate Kyle Smith is in his 30s now but he vividly remembers what it was like to be a kid burdened by a chronic, painful condition.

Smith, who is co-founder and CEO of the nonprofit Crescent Foundation, recently shared his story with more than 100 CSL Behring scientists in a virtual meeting. Watch the clip above to learn more about sickle cell disease.
